Confessions Of A Jane Austen Addict by Laurie Viera Rigler

Confessions Of A Jane Austen Addict by Laurie Viera Rigler

A Novel

In a lot of these modern girl ends up back in time wildly pursuing Mr Darcy books the young lady in question usually takes it all in her stride and can’t wait to be seduced by the romantic hero.

In this tale, Courtney Stone is pretty horrified to wake up in some one else’s and body (Jayne Mansfield). This girl struggles with the toilet and washing facilities, the restrictions of the clothing, the hyigene of others. She is totally freaked out about the idea of having a filthy Doctor bleed her with a dirty blade.

I have never read one of these books where the heroine is worrying about everybody's dental hygiene.

So I settled in to enjoy this book more than a lot of similar tales. It looks at the social restrictions on men and women of the time.

She has no knowledge of the person she is having to pretend to be and from the outset her mean controlling Mother is threatening her with the mental asylum if she does not behave correctly.

Her life back in California had not been going exactly to plan but none the less she wants that life back, but how to get there? She has no idea.

She also does not want to mess up the life of Jayne Mansfield too totally before giving the real owner her body back ,easier said than done in a world with so many social rites and restrictions.

Will she get back? Will she even want to by the time she has got used to being waited on and cooked for, and dressed in finery.

Read the book and find out for yourself. I am about to start the next book ‘Rude Awakenings Of A Jane Austen Addict’
