Well and truly into the Second World War and Darcy is a Bomber Pilot with the RAF and Lizzy is driving trucks around war torn Britain.

They meet in a pub where Darcy is trying to drown his sorrows after a traumatic bomb raid and Lizzy is delivering vegetables from the farms. He feels he knows her face but is still insufferably rude to her.

She thinks he is good looking but intolerable and so the story starts in time honoured tradition.

Darcy is confined to barracks with each mission and will be moved to the other end of the country for training. It looks hopeless for them.

All the Bennet family are fighting the war by doing their part to help the war effort.

But Lydia still gets into trouble as she falls for Wykhams lies. 

This tale of Elizabeth and Darcy is gripping, romantic and a real pleasure to read.

Mary brings the London blitz back to life as we hide under the table with Lizzy and Darcy as buzz bombs fall all over London.

The Truth Will Come Out...

This book is light, bright and entertaining, I even chuckled out loud a few times.

This Pride and Prejudice variation really plays on the fact that Darcy and Elizabeth almost constantly jump to the wrong conclusions over each others reactions, or indeed lack of, almost always getting the wrong idea which causes much heartache and hankie wringing.

The wit and repartee between Mr Bennet, Lizzy and Mr Darcy, sparkles and draws you into the relationship which becomes very tactile, to the point that the temptation is almost impossible for either of them to bear. There is no bodice ripping but lots of sensuality and steaminess.

So, if you haven’t read this one yet grab a copy it’s such a feel good book, and, if you have read it a while ago, well, go and get it off the shelf and indulge yourself again, it will make you smile, I promise.
